Evaluasi Terhadap Distorsi dan Ketidakpuasan Citra Tubuh pada Anak Berusia 8-12 Tahun

Latar belakang. Citra tubuh terbentuk sejak usia dini dan berkembang seiring bertambahnya usia anak. Gangguan citra tubuh pada usia anak berdampak pada kesejahteraan serta risiko psikopatologi dan gangguan medis di kemudian hari. Di Indonesia belum banyak dilakukan penelitian mengenai citra tubuh pada dimensi persepsi dan sikap anak usia 8-12 tahun.
Tujuan. Melihat gambaran citra tubuh pada anak berusia 8-12 tahun dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya.
Metode. Penelitian dengan desain studi potong lintang menggunakan kuesioner Children’s Body Image Scale (CBIS), Rosenberg’s Self Esteem Scale (RSES), kuesioner pengaruh orang tua dan data mengenai berbagai faktor independen terkait citra tubuh. Penelitian dilakukan di Sekolah Dasar (SD) di Kota Tangerang pada bulan Maret hingga Mei 2024. Hasil penelitian diolah menggunakan program Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 29.
Hasil. Dari 225 responden didapatkan prevalensi gangguan citra tubuh berupa distorsi persepsi sebesar 76,44% dan ketidakpuasan sebanyak 64,44%. Berdasarkan uji chi-square didapatkan hubungan signifikan antara citra tubuh dimensi persepsi dengan kepemilikan idola (p=0,039), citra tubuh dimensi sikap dengan jenis kelamin (p<0,001), kepemilikan idola (p=0,002) dan pengaruh orang tua (p=0,016).
Kesimpulan. Prevalensi distorsi citra tubuh dan ketidakpuasan terhadap tubuh pada anak usia 8-12 tahun tinggi. Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara citra tubuh dengan jenis kelamin, kepemilikan idola dan pengaruh orang tua.
